Memory is hazy seem to remember it was a bring your own bottle event in
some sort of barn near Lampeter - Mach 4 must have been playing as I
knew them well and went to lots of their gigs. I have a random memory of
all drinks being taken off us and a temporary bar set up where you got
given what ever the barman fancied from the collected bottles but my
memory was pretty addled the next day let alone 20 years later!

Good to see that there is still some sort of activity in the slug camp!

Pendleton reveiw in N.M.E. the boys have got a new video, catch it on MTV 2, record deal with Japanise company..Touring all over the UK, catch a gig. Recommended *****. [Jamie]

Fuckin amazing!

I was the drummer for their support band the j arthurs in which our singer [denis] was also the drummer for the slugs. He used to do a couple of songs at the end of each gig with jaws on the drums, but in the end we formed the j arthurs to free the slugs up to do their own stuff. I also did the light show an roady shit for them on the cornwall tour back in 84 I think it was.

I just phoned geoff the bass player cos I see him regular an he didn’t know the site was up either. 

I spoke to dino a few years ago whos now livin in London last I heard.

I have various recordins of the band on cd an it’s the best stuff they ever did an its all live. 

I have a photo of the j arthurs with denis singing at the helicon which was a building at the top of llandysul that used to do gigs in the good old days before fire regs took over!
